Years ago I became very ill after a long period of convalence, having lived a state of confusion and resentment, specially seeing certain dark manipulations done to humanity, coming into conflict with the world and my own state. I had forgotten what I learned in previous years. But in the end, through growing understanding and comprehension, one was able to get out of great states of Adversity, seeing the meaning of a Duality integrated in the Unity to face destructive Duality.
Needless to say, the very word Love implies a Bi-unity of Lover and Beloved. And that is basically the essence of the Divine, which is not Divided. Therefore, there is also a Bi-Duality, where one is Divine and the other Satanic, destructive. And both can be experienced within, leading to some understanding. Thus heaven and hell are all in the mind, as even Meister Eckhart and Jakob Boheme taught.
If you're frightened of dying and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth." –Eckhart von Hochheim
Below I leave more important quotes about it.
Integrating Duality is something that was also expressed with codes such as the Divine Name, YHVH, which backwards reads Havayah, Existence. That is why one prefers to make an Ontological-Totalizing reading of the Divine Name, and not the typical Theological-Ontifying reading where Jehovah, Yahve, Yahweh is a Deity, Entity, be it benevolent, as in Judeo-Christianity, or malevolent, as in Gnosticism.
Although, ironically, in Basilidian Gnosticism there was a notion, that of Abraxas, an unusual allusion to the Supreme, held in high esteem by Basilides. And we can see it as the Divine Whole that goes beyond evil, but includes even the states of darkness to transcend them, because something is defined both by what it is and by what it is not. How is the Divine One going to be known if he does not give way to the ignorance of non-being and oblivion? How to discover the essence of Love if universes are not allowed to have elements separated with a certain rejection or hatred, as Empedocles taught?
Abraxas was represented as a Rooster head with two snake legs in opposite directions, a sword and a shield with IAO, one of the YHV pronunciations. And since the Rooster sings at dawn, he can represent the Awakening that comes out of the state of adversity and confrontation, with discernment. Thus, even the Adversary himself becomes a Servant and not a Punisher. Since ancient times it has been considered that the divine poison (Samael), is Ignorance (Avydia), Idiot (Saklas), opperating below the Norm, the Law of ArmonÃa.
Instead, the Light always shines in the Darkness, even if the Darkness does not recognize it (John 1).
This was a great discovery for me, because it is something different and more complete than the Non-Duality that many interpreters of Advaita Vedanta talk about. The truth is that Non-Duality is absurd, since saying "No" implies denying something. Not even in India does Advaita mean that, because the particle A- implies Duality, which, being a private particle, does not necessarily deny Duality, in the same way that Yeshua does not deny Satan: A divided house cannot stand, said the Teacher. Hence it was said that the Son of God came to destroy the fruits of the Accuser (1 John 3:8), not the Adversary, who always remains as residual energy or reshimo of the destroyed worlds. But even the demons tremble and know that the Blessed One is One (James/James 2:19).
The transcendence of the state of Adverse Duality is made possible by the union of opposites (not opposites) through the invisible Third Force, the famous Holy Spirit. That is what gets us out of the impasse and fills us with healing Light.
Excerpts from Jakob Boheme's Treatise on Heaven and Hell. XVII century (1) :
The Scholar asked his Master, Where does the Soul go when the Body dies? His master answered him; There is no Necessity for it to go anywhere. Why not! Said the inquisitive Junius:
Must not the Soul leave the Body at Death, and go either to Heaven or Hell? No, replied the venerable Theophorus. Only the outward mortal Life and the Body shall separate itself from the Soul. The Soul has Heaven and Hell within itself already, according as it is written, the Kingdom of God comes not with observation, neither shall they say, it's here! Or it's there! For behold the Kingdom of God is within you." (…)
Here Julius said to his Master; This is difficult to understand. Doesn't it enter into Heaven or Hell, as a man enters into a House, does it not into another World?
The Master spoke and said; No, there is no such kind of entering in; because Heaven and Hell are everywhere, and universally co-exist. (…)
Understand then what Heaven is: It is the turning of the Will to the Love of God. Wherever you find God manifesting Himself in Love, there you find Heaven, without traveling for it so much as one Foot. And you can understand by this what Hell is, and where it is, as well. I say to you, it is but turning the will into the wrath of God. Wherever the anger of God is manifest, there certainly is Hell. So it is the turning of your will either into His Love, or into His anger; and you are accordingly either in Heaven or Hell. (…) All therefore does consist in the turning, or entering of our will, into Heaven, by HEARING the Voice of Christ, and both knowing Him and following Him. And so on the contrary it is also. Do you understand this?
(…) But in that you also ask, why the souls, which are without God, feel hell in this world? I answer; they bear it about with them in their wicked consciences, but they do not know it; because the world has put out their eyes, and its deadly cup has cast them into a sleep, a very fatal sleep.
Scholar. How shall all people and nations be brought to judgment?
(…) The last judgment is but a kindling of the fire both of God's love and anger, in which the matter of every substance perishes, and each fire shall attract into itself its own
(…) The life will then be manifested in all its works, and every soul shall see and feel its judgment and sentence in itself. For the judgment is indeed immediately manifested in and to every soul at the departure of the body; and the last judgment is but a return of the spiritual body, and a separation of the world, when the evil shall be separated from the good, in the substance of the world, and of the human body, and everything enters into its eternal place.
"The light shall shine forever in the darkness, but the darkness can never comprehend, or reach it." And the light is the kingdom of Christ; but the darkness is hell, wherein the devils and the wicked dwell; and so they shall be suppressed by the kingdom of Christ, and made his footstool, i.e., a reproach.
(…)
The scholar said again: Since Heaven and hell is at strife in us, in the time of this life, and God Himself is also near to us, where can the angels and devils dwell? The master answered: Wherever you do not dwell to your self, and to your own will, there the holy angels dwell with you, and everywhere all over round and about you. Remember this well. On the contrary, where you dwell to yourself, in self-seeking, and self-will, there you may be sure, the devils will be with you, and will take up their abode with you, and dwell all over you, and round about you everywhere. Which God in His mercy please prevent.
(…) So in like manner hell also is through the whole world, and dwells and works only in itself, and in that which the foundation of hell is manifested, namely, in self, and in the false will. The visible world has both in it; and there is no place that heaven and hell may not be found or revealed in it. Now man as to his temporal life, is only of the visible world; and therefore during the time of this life, he does not see the spiritual world. For the outward world with its substance, is a cover to the spiritual world, even as the body is to the soul. But when the outward man dies, then the spiritual world, as to the soul, which then will have its covering taken away, will be manifested either in the eternal light with the holy angels, or in eternal darkness, with the devils.
